Privacy Policy

You can read every lesson, take every quiz and use every tool without an account. If you choose to create one — with Google or with an emailed sign-in link — we store only your email address and your learning progress, so you can continue on another device.

Learning progress means which lessons and quiz questions you have completed, how many attempts you took, and your quiz scores. That is all. We never store money amounts, tool inputs, or anything else you type on this site.

The Teen Budget Builder, Savings Goal Calculator, Paycheque Decoder and Side Hustle Tracker save everything in your browser's own local storage. The numbers you type stay on the device you are using and are never sent to us.

Lesson and quiz progress is also saved in your browser automatically. If you are signed in, that same progress is additionally saved to your account so it can follow you between devices. Signed-in progress is protected so that only your account can read or change it.

You can remove any stored data at any time:

• Use the Reset button inside each tool, which clears that tool's saved data immediately.
• Use Your progress to download a copy, reset all learning progress, or permanently delete your account and everything stored with it.
• Clear your browser's site data for taxloophole.ca (usually under Privacy or Site Settings), which removes everything stored locally, including on shared or public computers.

TaxLoophole.ca does not run advertising, does not use third-party analytics or advertising cookies, and does not build behavioural profiles of visitors, including young people. We do not sell or share data, because we do not collect any to begin with.

Lessons link to official resources on canada.ca and cra-arc.gc.ca to support the information taught on this site. Those sites are operated by the Government of Canada and are governed by their own privacy policies and terms, which we do not control. We encourage you to review those policies separately before providing any information on a government site.
